So you have created a new blog/website, written a couple of articles, but your webpage is not listed in google search results and you are worried if people are ever going to find out about your blog and read those amazing articles you’ve written.

Well don’t worry in this article I am going to tell you about the tools you need to integrate in your blog so that you can track traffic on your page, find out which of your articles are getting more attention and which don’t, so that you can improve on them. Last but most important of all how to get your blog listed in the google search results so that people can find your amazing articles.

Getting Listed In Google Search Results (Google Search Console)

Lets start with the most important of them all, getting you blog/website listed in google search result page. Well there’s two way this can be achieved, first way is you do nothing and let google decide when and if to crawl your page which is unpredictable and not recommended. Second and recommended way is to tell google about you site and get it indexed using a tool called Google Search Console. It’s a very simple and straight forward tool you need to sign-up add your domain get it verified and in one-two weeks your page will be crawled and starts listing in Google search result.

Google Analytics

You added your page in Google Search Console, now you page is listing in Google search results and people are able to get to your page. Now you need a way to track users engagement with your page so that you can improve the quality of your content and attract more people to you page, Google Analytics is the tools which does that for you, if you have some knowledge of HTML tags like <head><body></body></head> integrating Google Analytics in your page is very easy otherwise you can find plenty of YouTube tutorials on this topic.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Well this the one topic which totally depends on how much research you did about the keywords, trends among other things before writing an article about a topic, and once you’re ready with the list of keywords how you are going to use them in you article. Here are some tips for you

  • Use your most important keywords in the Headings and Tittle of your article
  • Others you can used as bold or link in the rest of the article

Well these are not full proof SEO guidelines but good enough to get you started and let you learn and adapt as you go along.

Page Optimization

Not all aspect of it could be controlled by you unless you’re an expert on web-server, but some of it can be and it should be. Most important thing to keep in mind to use a properly compressed image file for your blog, try never to use any image beyond 100kb for any of you post as it will directly impact your page load time, use tools like Page Speed Insights by Google, GTmetrix to find out what is slowing your page to load and try fixing it to achieve page load time of under 1second as this one of the factor considered in SEO for ranking your page. You also can explore CDNs(Content Delivery Network) provides for optimization of you page delivery system. There are more than one way to achieve this some are easy but paid and other are not so easy but free it depends on your requirement which way you gonna choose.

With all said I want to conclude this article here as it’s getting very lengthy and if you’re still reading this here’s one last tip keep your article short and to the point, ideally I wouldn’t prefer to go more than three paragraphs but since this topic was very broad I went beyond.

I hope this article was useful for you. Please comment if you have any questions, thanks.
